’Purple Spider’

'Purple Spider' is our favorite keepers from our 'Purple Magaos' x 'Ace of Purps' seed family. It inherited the fused lobes and the dark velvet leaves from the ‘Purple Magaos’ and the dark leaf color and purple veins from ‘Ace of Purps’. So far Hybrids with these are showing great promise 

’Ace of Purps’

In 2021 we were given a single seed from a friend of Barry. It has grown into our favorite mother plant. From an early age, it had a very dark emergent with purple veins. There are many variants of Ace of Purple, but few that are true to the appearance of the original. We are very lucky to have one that matches. 

Barry told us that Ace of Purple is the original Ace cross and the narrow offspring were tissue cultured as Ace of Spades while the wider version in collections since the 1980s is much rarer. 

Our goal from the beginning has been to reinforce our favorite traits of the plant while improving vigor. Our parent has been excellent for it and we can't wait to keep up the work.
